Crystal River Modern
Carbondale, CO
2024
“A unique site deserves a special home.” The Crystal River Modern was inspired by Architect Gino Rossetti and designed in collaboration with Project Architect Brad Larson of Larson Design Group. The site was a rare find in Carbondale, as the last remaining lot in a mature subdivision, with Mount Sopris Views and river frontage that is walking distance to downtown. It is situated on an inside bend of the Crystal River and features expansive decks and a connection to the river with views from every room.
Designed with efficiency in mind, large overhangs on the southwest face of the house shield expansive glazing in the summertime and invite warm, low angle sun in the wintertime for passive solar gain. A high-performance building envelope, “all electric ready” design, and 10kw solar array that was incorporated into the house as an architectural design feature insure this house is comfortable year round with minimal energy consumption.
